The Chillhouse, Bali Surf and Bike Retreat
Surrounded by Lush green jungle, quiet and secluded, only minutes drive away from the beautiful beaches, The Chilhouse Bali Surf and Bike Retreat located in Canggu is a wonderful place for those looking to escape the busy streets of Kuta and Seminyak packed with tourists and travellers. If you are seeking to head away into the pure bliss and into a tropical lifestyle, The Chillhouse is the perfect retreat. From the delicious meals to the totally relaxing layout and onsite activities, The Chillhouse is a wonderful place for a truly switched off and disconnecting stay.
When I first arrived I was kindly greeted in the beautiful reception, set inside a lovely boutique shop with local arts, crafts, and accessories for purchase, it’s a lovely place to enter into the property. As you continue deeper, around into the main common area, you are surrounded with frangipani trees, a beautiful swimming pool, and a number of spaces to truly “chill out” in.
Known for it’s great atmosphere, The Chillhouse is widely visited by a number of travellers each and every week to experience a range of activities, relaxation therapies, and for those looking for a calm and peaceful space to work and complete their projects in.
The Retreat: Surrounded by beautiful lush gardens, and hidden in the wonderful area of Canggu, the retreat is only a 40-minute drive from the airport. The property has an array of places to totally “chill” in, from wonderful little bungalows scattered around the gardens, to the two different pool areas, the roof top view point, and in an array of hangout areas, that you will surly be able to sit back relax, and enjoy.
Wi-Fi is also available in the main areas, such as reception and in the dining area. The spaces created around The Chillhouse not only enable you to find some space to work or relax, but also are open seating, and open spaced to enable you to interact and meet other guests throughout the property.
Sleep: Heading around the stunning gardens throughout the retreat, you will find an array of beautiful hidden villas and bungalows. This style of accommodation ranges from double bungalows to single rooms, all of which are uniquely decorated, extremely cozy and very quaint.
The most exciting part about the bungalows is that they have a wonderful outdoor shower area. That’s right, you shower outside under the stars! The villas are equipped with air-conditioning, a mini bar and mosquito net. You also have access to a beautiful pavilion balcony looking out onto the frangipani trees and beautiful gardens.
Eat: Proudly known for its natural and organic menu, all meals created are a wonderful blend of local vegetables, fruits and meats. All the meals are clean and colourful, proudly organic and very healthy! The smoothies are so beautiful you won’t even want to drink them, and don’t even get me started on the breakfast and dinner buffets. We are talking home made jams, spreads, and beautiful salads, wraps, and smoothie bowls, the best part is breakfast and dinner buffet are included in your accommodation costs!
Besides being extremely tasty, and better yet very healthy, the meals also come in a range of vegetarian and vegan options.
Activities: From Surfing, Yoga and Biking to Massages, Meditation and local tours, your stay at The Chillhouse has everything you need and so much more! Known for it’s wonderful yoga sessions (Yes, I tried it, and yes…I LOVED it!) surfing and biking sessions, it’s a awesome place to get out and do those things you have always wanted to do on holiday, and when in Bali, why not?
Prices for surfing start at IDR 750.000, Biking is from IDR 775.000 and the must try Yoga session are IDR 120.000.

The Chillhouse situated in Canggu was one of the most relaxing places I have stayed in Bali. From the beautiful villas and bungalows, to the fresh and delicious meals prepared each day, the atmosphere is perfect for anyone looking to stay in a peaceful place with a wonderful range of onsite activities, creative spaces to work in, and looking to create and rejuvenate into a more natural and healthy lifestyle.
